ADWA Supports Wounded Warriors in Missouri

Hunter Ridge Ranch in Camdenton, Mo., recently hosted a special Wounded Warrior Freedom Barbecue event that paid tribute to four American soldiers as they returned home after a tour of duty overseas.

Timothy Pool, Jonathan Wilson, Shane Sawmiller and Robert Horne were the honored recipients, and the special five-day event brought together industry professionals, community leaders and concerned citizens that wanted to show their appreciation for the soldiers.

Oscar Hunter, who owns Hunter Ridge Ranch, treated the four Marines to all-inclusive hunts during which the men took red stag, fallow deer, elk and scores of ducks.

“Our guides know the property well and understand what it takes to hunt trophy whitetail, red stag, fallow deer and elk,” said Hunter, a member of the North American Deer Farmers Association and the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance. “Our trophy deer are the result of a 20-year genetic breeding program, but there is more than just deer in these hills.”

Hunter Ridge Ranch, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, boasts over 1,000 acres of pristine forest, meadows and streams for a quality, trophy-hunting experience. Hunter purchased the ranch 20 years ago, but it wasn not until 2006 that transformed the property into a hunting ranch. Today, Hunter Ridge Ranch is the preferred hunting destination for sportsmen around the country.

“When I first heard that Oscar was hosting this event, I knew ADWA needed to support it in any way possible,” says ADWA President John Meng. “These men have gone where most us cannot go; they have done what we cannot do; and all the liberties that we enjoy and take for granted everyday, we owe to the brave men and women in the U.S. armed forces.”
